摘要：In an apparatus arranged to acquire subject information, a light source (100) iscapable of generating light with a first wavelength and alight with a second wavelengthdifferent from the first wavelength, an acoustic wave detection unit (400) detects aphotoacoustic wave generated by illuminating a subject with light and output a resultantdetection signal, and a signal processing unit (500) acquires subject information based ona first detection signal output by the acoustic wave detection unit when the subject isilluminated with the light with the first wavelength and a second detection signal outputby the acoustic wave detection unit when the subject is illuminated with the light with thesecond wavelength. An effective attenuation coefficient of the subject at the firstwavelength is equal to an effective attenuation coefficient of the subject at the secondwavelength.
