Chinese doctor-patient relationship status
In the recent years, as people's living standards improve, the demand for medical and health is growing, but China's lack of medical resources.Therefore, hospitals and doctors has become the target of public criticism. The relationship between doctors and patients becomes more and more nervous.
What led to this situation? It must have many factors. From my view, there are mainly three aspects. They are doctor, patient and society. To the doctors, their ethics is becoming poorer. Saving lives is a noble and sacred work originally. But today, for the pursuit of economic benefits, many doctors ask for \"red envelopes\" to patients and their families. It will reduce patient’s trust in doctors. They may consider that the doctors would not do operation carefully and seriously if they do not give enough \"red envelope\". In addition,they neglect the communication with the patient.
Second, in terms of the patient, their expectations of hospitals and doctors are too high. The hospital received their money, and they have the obligation and the ability to cure disease. Moreover, patients are lack of medical knowledge. Third, in the aspects of society, the resource of health care is shortage. And the distribution is uneven. Chinese doctor's income is very low.and Medical costs are too heavy。
Facing nervous doctor - patient relationship, do we have no ideas
to better this situation? As a matter of fact, many things can be done. For instance, doctors should have medical ethics and humanities. Doctors and patients should communicate with each. Patients should know more knowledge of medicine. And countries ought to legal protection.
Although we have a long way to go, we have reasons to believe that the doctor-patient relationship in China is gradually improving.
