Studying Abroad

In recent years, studying abroad has been popular. Tens of thousands of Chinese students have gone to foreign countries to study. Many people are trying their best to apply to go abroad.

There are many advantages in studying abroad. First , students who have studies abroad can act as bridges between people of different cultures. Second , we can learn more advanced knowledge of science and technology from foreign countries. Third , we can learn foreign languages more quickly.

However, there are some disadvantages. Most of the students are too young to live alone without any living experience. Besides , being far away from their home country, they may feel lonely and homesick. Also , the costs are much higher there than at home.

In spite of these, advantages are more than disadvantages. In my opinion, it is advisable to attend school abroad.

Different classmates have different opinions about going to a university outside or inside the city. Some think they would like to study at a university far away from their homes so that they can lead a different life on their own. But others think they should choose a university in their local city, for they and their parents can

Last week, I made a survey in my class about what university they want to choose, I’m writing to tell you the result.

70 percent of my classmates tend to choose universities within our province. They say they are more likely to be admitted if they apply to these universities. And they needn’t change their lifestyle too much. 25 percent of them would like to choose universities that are not in our province. Away from home, they want to be more independent and there are more universities for them to choose from. Only 5 percent of them choose foreign universities . The reason why they want to go abroad is that they can widen their knowledge and learn more about different cultures. Besides , it will be a great help to their foreign language study.

At present an increasing number of teenagers are taking part in TV talent shows, about which students’ opinions are divided.

Some think that it is a stage to show their talents of art, contributing much to their social experience and self-confidence. What’s more, it’s good for their overall development.

However , other students hold the different idea that the teenagers are just imitating others rather than showing something original. Besides , some are such “star dream” followers that they can’t put heart and soul into their study, thus affecting their study badly.

In my opinion, important as study is, it’s not the only thing we can do. It is preferable to explore our abilities in other areas besides study.
