Unit 8 How do you make a banana milk shake? 词汇教学活动设计

I Teaching object:

Knowledge object: to master the key words like shake, peel, blender, yogurt, watermelon pour, spoon,honey as well as the structure of “first,next,then and finally”and learn to use them. Ability object: to learn to talk about how to make things in our daily life.

Emotional object: to arouse students’ interest in English study and put what they have learnt into daily use.

II Teaching important points: to grasp the key words and the structure of “first,next,then

and finally”and learn to use them in our daily life.

III Teaching difficult points: to arouse students’ interest in English study and put what they

have learnt into daily use.

IV Teaching aids: ppt, tape recorder and word cards V Teaching procedures:

Step I Warming up

Have a free talk with students about their favorite fruit and drinks. Let ss speak out watermelon, strawberry , pear, yogurt, milk shake and so on. Show ss some word cards of these new words and correct their pronunciation. Step II Presentation

Ask ss “do you want to know how to make a banana milk shake?” and lead in the structure “first,next,then, finally”. The teacher preares the things needed to make a banana milk shake and demonstrates the steps of making it. Ss look carefully and understand each step. Write the new words and steps on the blackboard and let ss read them together. After this, ask a student to do the experiment and let them try to remember these steps. Step III Practice

Let ss work in pairs to have a discussion about how to make fruit salad and what they need to make it. At the same time, show ss word cards: honey, watermelon, yogurt and spoon and pay attention to their pronunciation. Then after 3 minutes, ask some pairs to act out their conversation and give some rewards to the best ones. Finally, show the word cards quickly and consolidate the spelling and pronunciation of the new words Step IV Production

Listen to the tape and circle the new words and use them to make sentences in pairs. Ask some of them to write their sentences on the blackboard and give some assessments timely. Step V Homework

Try to talk about how to make a strawberry milk shake with their partners and write some sentences with the new words on the exercise book and hand in.
