A family has a great influence on children's development, but the society plays a bigger part in children's life. Do you agree or disagree?
Does the society play a more importan role in children’s life than a family? Although many people hold the belief that the society is more influencial, I stick to the point that a family is the most indespensible element for children’s development.
Those who attach more importance to the society have been misled by some phemona nowadays. For one thing, with children’s allowances growing rapidly, they naturally need to be capable of dealing with money, thus there is no way they can avoid being taught and affected by the society. For another, the crime rate of teenagers is increasing at an alarming speed. As a consequence, it is regarded as a proof of the effect of the society on children’s life.
Although these people are justifiable to some extert, I cannot agree with them. From my perspective, families make greater contributions to children’s development. On the one hand, in the early stages of one’s life, his world is most likely to be limited to home and schools, which means that children hardly have any contact with the society. On the other hand, studies have shown that family education exerts a profound effect on children’s personality and character that possibly leads to their future success. In contrast, the societyis not so successfulin the formation of a child’s moral value. In addition, when children are provided with negative information from the society which are quite misleading, there families are almost always the thing to pull them back to the right track, which
shows how greatly families influence their children.
In conclusion, doubtless the influence of a family on children’s development outweigh that of the society. I therefore strongly advocate that family education be laid more emphasis on to ensure that they have a brighter future.
