My Last Summer Holiday
When I was a litter girl, I was wondering all the time what I would look like as a teacher standing before several decades of students. To realize my dream to be a teacher, I decided to sign up for a remedial class to be a teacher during my summer holiday last year.
When first arriving at the destination where I began my first job experience as a teacher, I found all the things were what I had imagined before. The living conditions were poor so that five girls had to be crowded in a small room on the second floor. To make the matter worse, because of the extremely hot weather in summer, we five girls nearly cannot fall asleep all the night. looking back now, we often had no enough sound sleep during those days. However, strangely speaking, none of us, including five girls and another five boys, wanted to leave in the hard conditions.
The first thing we did at the beginning is mainly distributing leaflets on the street to attract much more students to join our continuation class. As a result, we all had to get up early in the morning, headed toward the destination where we were prearranged to distribute leaflets, after having a simple breakfast in a hurry. It was not until 12 o’clock at high noon that we could return to the dorm, and too exhausted to have even one more word and take even one more step. When the recruiting time was finally over, we succeeded in fulfilling our enrollment quota, which cheered every one of us, despite the thing that our skin all became black after having been under the blazing sun for so many days. .
Then what faced us was to prepare ourselves for classes. On the eve of the opening date of our continuation class, I had a whole night to make sure that all embarrassing situations would be considered, just in the hope of leaving an unforgettable impression on my students. The truely exciting time came finally.
Tongue plugged, face blushed, scalp tingled, and direction messed, which are the words I want to use to describe my first work experience as a teacher. You may think it is exaggerated. Oh no, that was just the point. God knew how I finished my first class in such a flustered condition.
After coming back to the dorm back, my other companies told me some things I need pay great attention to in the following teaching days. Such as, they said I could take a long breath when feeling nervous. It was after nearly two-hour heated discussion that we went to our bed, with smile from ear to ear.
Following these advice given by my other companies, I found my classes, sure enough, went sound a large extent.
Through my first one- month work experience as a teacher, I learned a lot. I know how to communicate with a stranger and I have to enable to understand others’ purpose or meaning in a short time by our brief conversation. I realize all that I should to make what I said completely understood by my students. I deeply understand that there is many hands make light work, and that a friend in need is a friend indeed. Above all, I made nine good friends I could share sorrow and happiness. That is my valuable treasure of my last summer holiday.

An Introduction to the English corner
When it comes to the English corner, many will think of a place crowded with people, talking with each other in English. The thought is true in some point. Let me introduce briefly the English corner in my university. It was founded four years ago, and so popular among students that several hundreds of students have been its members, me included. It is held on every afternoon of Sundays when the majority of the students has no classes and has enough time to participate in the activities whose main content is to practice the English conversation, to talk about interesting topics and to exchange the experience of English learning.
I notice that students, by participating in these activities held by the English corner, can learn more knowledge, a supplement to the English classes. Because of its usefulness for English learning, it becomes more and more popular with the teachers and students.
As a member of the English corner, I really hope more students can know better about it and that with the help of it, students are eager to save time, energy and money to learn well can make great progress in the future.
An Introduction to the School in China
When having a class yesterday, I was asked by my foreign teacher to tell him something about the Educational System in China. Taking a deep breath, I responded orderly as described below.
In most case, kids will go to primary school at seven. After six-year learning, they attend the junior middle school where they learn another 3 years and finish their nine-year compulsory education.
Then, it is by passing a formal examination that parts of students graduating from the junior middle school can enter the three-year senior middle school where students may drop out, and some of them choose to go to professional schools to be educated as skilled workers, or they will become a college student, after passing the national college entrance. In addition, it is common for a graduate to spend four years getting his bachelor’s diploma.
At that time, he can either become one of the formal members of society, begin his career as a worker labor and make money to support his family, or have a further education by taking an examination required to be a graduate. The latter, of course, offers a higher to choose a better job after having a graduate degree
Argumentation
Is the Internet Good for Us or Not?
All we know is that because of the access to the Internet, it is easy for people from all over the world to share information within seconds, send e-mails to their friends far away, and have long-distance meeting with their cooperative partners on the other side of the earth. To conclude, the Internet has been playing an important position in people’s daily life at present. However, there is not a scientifical application without controversy, which is true for the Internet.
For these that hold the view that the Internet does great good to the society, there is no doubt to encourage the popularization and application of the Internet. They have many powerful reasons to support their view. Some of them are as follows. With the development of the Internet, blogs and social network cites provide more channels to communicate. Besides, the Internet is also helpful to promote interpersonal communication, to shorten the distance between people, and to go beyond the space limit. The primary example that, they think, can take powerfully account of their opinion is that the earth is just becoming more like a shrinking wired global village with increased communication and travelling.
There are people with opposite opinion that the fast development of the Internet should be limited. The reason why they think so is also not without rationality. In their minds, human beings are social creatures, and cannot live if they detach themselves from the group. Whereas, people spend more time on the Internet every day, which may impair the emotional connections among families and friends, weaken people’s communication skills, and finally become a block to the face-to-face communication between parents and children, doing great harm to the healthy development of society. Furthermore, they also worry very much that the overdependence on the Internet may cause people not to think for themselves, and cause people to become lazy, and even retrogressive.
At the bottom of my heart, neither of them is wrong. After all, every coin has two sides. However, the Internet, as far as I am concerned, is just a tool for ease of communication, and there is no need to worry too much about its negative influence on people, as long as we balance well the relations between the Internet and social affairs. It is may be exaggerated to say that we human beings cannot live without the Internet, but is there anyone that can deny the fact that the Internet help us live a easier life? It is impossible to refuse the popularization and application of a scientifical application just because its potential danger.

A Letter to the President of My University
My dear Mr. President,
How are you? This letter comes from one of your students. It takes my great encourage to write you this letter. In it, some opinions are put forward for you to report.
As you know, our students are the main customers of the university canteen. Nevertheless, unfortunately, we do not find the service there satisfying sometimes. The food is not as nutritious as it should be. As a result, some of us become thinner and weaker at university. What’s more, the price is a litter higher.
It is true that the school has taken some measures already and things are improving a bit. For instance, IC cards have officially taken place of money in the university canteen. Nevertheless, in my view, progress is not so quick and thorough.
To be brief, the present canteen conditions, I do believe, can become better and better in the future, with the efforts of all people concerned. Apart from the topic on the canteen service in campus, I want to talk about my concern about the sports facilities in campus.
I notice that our school has very limited recourses in term of opportunities to participate in sports, especially given the increasing number of students on campus every year.
It seems nobody that will doubt the importance of the health. Meanwhile, we all know taking exercises is of value in our life, students included certainly. Consequently, it is natural to draw a conclusion that it is vital for the sound growth of young students to have enough chance to take advantage of sports facilities on campus.
If everyone have access to use sports facilities on campus, the young are able to choose a healthier lifestyle, to boost self-confidence, and to build
a positive outlook and sense of achievement, which is of use to help them face all the ups and downs in the rest of their life.
We are not little students. Except the study, we have many things to do. What is the point of doing that? I really do not see the purpose, do you? You must know the English saying that goes like this, “all work and no play makes jack a dull boy.” I am dull now and so are all my classmates. We are merely homework robots. Please help us create a favorable learning environment where we can have a great deal access to pleasant ways to relax ourselves.
It is time for a change! Hope that these matters will be dealt with as soon as possible.
Thank you for your attention in this letter.
Yours truly, Chai Xiaohui
