摘要：Preparation of racemic cis-N-methyl-(3,4-dichlorophenyl)-1,2,3,4-tetrahydro-1-naphthyl amine (racemic sertraline) (I) in its salt form from 4-(3,4-dichlorophenyl)-tetralone (II) comprises: (1) reacting (II) with N-methylformamide in the presence offormic acid; (2) adding a base; and (3) separating the salt of (I) by selective crystallizationwith an acid. Preparation of racemic cis-N-methyl-(3,4-dichlorophenyl)-1,2,3,4-tetrahydro-1-naphthyl amine (racemic sertraline) of formula (I) in its salt form from 4-(3,4-dichlorophenyl)-tetralone of formula (II) comprises: (1) reacting (II) with N-methylformamide in the presence of formic acid; (2) adding a base; and (3) separating thesalt of (I) by selective crystallization with an acid.
