摘要：A method for preparing stabilized, rehydratable polyacrylamide gels, whereinthe stabilizers employed include substituted monosaccharides where the hydroxyl groupof the carbon 1 is substituted with a non- charged group comprising an &agr;-methylgroup or an oligosaccharide having from 2 to about 8 repeating units which can be thesame or different. These rehydratable gels can be stored for extended periods of time atambient temperatures, and can be rehydrated without loss of structural or functionalintegrity to be used for electrophoretic separation of proteins and nucleic acids.
