摘 要
随着社会物质文明的不断发展，人类外在生活的发达与其内在精
神的贫瘠，两者间似乎愈来愈呈背道而驰之势。西方传统文明经历过
“上帝死了”的现代思潮的性冲击之后，信仰的根基已然撼动，
逐渐进入“后上帝时期”。此时旧有的宗教道德标尺，被期望个性解
放与思想自由的人们所抛弃，而随着全球化的进程，人们在反思、探
索与迷茫中不断满足小我的欲望，以追逐利益为至上法则。旧有的精
神支柱倒下，而新的替代品却没有出现，此时信仰的缺失、道德标尺
的丧失，与价值观的错乱等时代病渐渐浮上水面，人类社会面对集体
性的文明危机。于是，作为一种人生信仰的宗教的社会意义就显得尤
为重要。而佛教，作为世界三大宗教之一，它在诞生与传播的过程中
与东方所特有的文明所结合，在中国更与传统的儒家及其伦理观所结
合，在历史的演变与社会的进化中，皆扮演着社会人文生态环境的重
要向导。时值今日，佛教如何更好的适应现代社会，如何使佛教成为
一种人心的教育，以达到为现代社会中迷茫的人们找到心灵归宿与方
向的目的，这无疑是值得研究且具有时代意义的命题。
圣严法师曾在接受媒体访问时谈及自己的一生，他说自己的一生
是中国佛教从苦难走向复兴的缩影。他亲身见证了佛教在中国社会时
代变迁的大背景下的过去与现在，同时更为佛教在其社会意义前提下
的发展提供了一种探索。本文第一章以圣严法师一生的时间顺序为主
轴，并以其思想的逐渐形成为支线，以此来分析圣严法师建设法鼓山
的理念宗旨的来源；第二章通过对圣严法师思想形成的分析，来说明
法鼓山这一世界佛教教育园区作为圣严法师一生理念的具体实践地，
以及作为一个佛教团体在现代社会中是如何发挥出佛教的普化作用，
和如何贯彻落实“提升人的品质，建设人间净土”这一法鼓山的理念
宗旨，来说明佛教在现时与日常生活结合中的具体实践，及其所反映
出的落实人间佛教的时代意义。第三章通过对圣严法师在法鼓山实行
的改革创新和实践中，所运用与反映出的主要思想理念，来展望佛教

应对于现代社会逐渐人间化，也即脱去神化的外衣，走下神坛的发展 趋势。
圣严法师一生致力于推动佛教人间化和与之相对应的人间净土化
理念，通过对传统佛教的改革，实现传统佛教向现代化转型的大胆创
新与探索。
现代佛教之与圣严法师，除却其本然的宗教意义，更充分地结合
了现代社会发展需要的大时代背景，它同时具备授人以鱼的关怀与授
人以渔的教化，也是对于心灵陷入迷茫与孤决的现代文明架构下人性
的一种人文关怀，一种思想的教育。这种融合了普世意义的佛教理念
是现实的，又是超然的，是属于当代的，也是属于未来的。

Abstract
With the continuous development of the social material, human life
developed outside their inner spirit of the poor, between the two seems to
run counter to the trend was increasing. Experienced the traditional Western
civilization, \"God is dead\" disruptive impact of modern trends of thought,
the belief is already shaking the foundation, and gradually entered a \"period
after the Lord.\" This time the old religious morality scale, is expected
personal liberation and freedom of thought, abandoned by the people, and
as the process of globalization, people in the reflection, exploration and
confusion continued to meet in the small of my desire to pursue interests
supreme law . Pillars of the old spirit of the fallen, and the new alternative
does not appear, then the lack of faith, loss of moral scale, and values of the
disorder gradually surfaced diseases such as age, human society is facing a
crisis of collective civilization. So, as a way of life the social significance
of religious faith is especially important. And Buddhism, one of the world's
three major religions, which in the course of the birth and spread of
Oriental civilization unique combination, even with the traditional Chinese
Confucian ethics and the combination of the historical evolution and social
evolution in all social and human environment played an important guide.
Until now, Buddhism, how to better adapt to modern society, how to make
Buddhism into a people's education, to achieve the confusion of modern
society, people find spiritual purpose and direction of destination, which is
certainly worthy of study and significance of the times proposition.
Master Sheng Yen in an interview talking about his life, he says his
life is a revival of Chinese Buddhism from the epitome of suffering. He
personally witnessed the era of Buddhism in Chinese society change the
background of past and present, while more social significance of
Buddhism in its development under the premise of a kind of exploration.
