M10U1 Are you getting ready for Spring Festival ?
LEARNING AIMS(明确目标，Are you ready ?)
知识目标：
1. 能听、说、读、写单词及短语：
lantern,dragon,dance,floor,sweep,cook,meal,Spring Festival,hurry up.
2. 学会在情景对话中使用句型“Are you getting ready for„„？” 能力目标：
1. 能听懂本课时的录音，并完成相关的练习。 2. 能运用句型进行情景对话。
3. 能运用所学的词汇和短语谈论春节。 情感目标：
通过学习让学生能利用英语对中国的春节进行介绍，增加对我国传统节日的了解。并且在学习中让学生学会感恩，包括对家人和师长朋友等感恩。 重点：
能正确地听、说、读、写单词及短语。领会句子“Are you getting ready„„？”的用法。 难点：
掌握有关春节的单词、词组以及句子“Are you getting ready for„„？”的用法。 学习过程
Step 1 Warming up 1 Listen to the music and answer the question ： (1)When do you often listen to this music? (2)What can you do on the special day?

1Look at the pictures in Activity 1 and preview the new words and expressions.

2 Match the expressions with the picures .Then have a free talk: What is he/ she doing in the pictures? You can work with you partners.
3 Listen to the tape and number the pictures. READING（认真对待，你的能力会有很大的提高）
1. Before listening to the dialogue,read the following questions. (1) Who are talking ?
(2) What is Lingling doing?
(3) What is Lingling’s aunt doing ? (4) Who is working ?
(5) What are Daming and Betty doing? (6) What is Lingling’s grandma doing? Play the tape again and follow it.
2. Scan the dialogue and answer the following question :

3. Read the dialogue carefully and answer the questions in Activity 1.
4. Key word and expressions:（Work in gtoup ,read the dialogue and underline the key words and expressions,then try to remember them.）
(1) This is Tony speaking.我是托尼。这是打电话常用语。英语中打
电话问对方是谁的时候用“Who is that?”或者是“Who is that speaking?”回答自己是谁的时候用“This is „„”或者是“This is „„speaking .”不能说“I am „”若问对方“是某人吗？”则是“Is that„（speaking）？”
(2) What’s happening ? 在忙什么呢？ Happen 是不及物动词，
意思是“发生”，后面不能直接跟宾语。
(3) Are you getting ready for Spring Festival ? 你们在为春节做准
备吗？ get ready for 为„„作准备。 (4) He is still at work . 他仍然在工作。 Be at work 意为“在工作，在上班”，相当于“be working”.此处的at 作介词，意为“做„„事情”，表示行动。类似的短语有：at home 在家，at breakfast 在吃早饭，at school在上学。 （你还能想到关于at 的什么短语？）
（5）put away 意为“把„„收好，收拾好”，是“动词+副词”结构的短语，相当于一个及物动词。其后接名词的时候，名词可
以放在短语中间，也可以放在后面，但是其后接代词的时候，代词必须放在短语的后面。
与put相关的短语你还能想到哪些？
（6）Can I join them? 我可以加入他们吗？jion 此处用作及物动词，意思是“加入”。表示加入某人做某事的行列或者是正在进行的事情，常用“jion sb. in doing sth.”
(7)Hurry up! 赶快！相关短语： hurry off/away ,意为“匆忙地离去”；in a hurry,意为“匆忙”。
5 Play the tape again ,and answer the questions in Activity 3. Then try to work in pairs to practise. 6 Devide the class into goups ,one acts Lingling and the other acts Tony ,then read the dialogue. And then work in pairs to practise the dialogue.

In the 4th century the Roman Catholic Church chose December 25 as the day for the Feast of the Nativity，And that, Christmas is the feast of the nativity of Jesus, is on 25th, December every year In the 19th century, two Christmas customs became popular － decorating Christmas trees and sending Christmas cards to relatives and friends. For most people who celebrate Christmas, the holiday season is an occasion for gatherings of family and friends, feasting, and giving gifts. One of the most important Christmas traditions is receiving gifts from Santa ClausMany young children believe that the presents they receive at Christmas are given by Santa Claus, who is a jolly, white-bearded fat man in a red suit and red hat. According to the story, Santa Claus travels through the air from somewhere near the North Pole in a sled drawn by reindeer （驯鹿） and comes down the chimney to leave the presents. Today, Santa Claus brings presents to children in many countries, including the United States, Canada, Great Britain and Australia. In Great Britain Santa Claus is also called Father ChristmasDuring the weeks before Christmas, children write letters to Father Christmas and tell him what presents they would like to receiveThey then throw these letters into the fire. Children believe that if a draft draws the letter up through the chimney, their wishes will be fulfilled. A traditional Christmas dinner in America includes stuffed turkey （火鸡） , mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce （越橘酱） , and a variety of other
