摘要：A method for reducing signaling overhead in user equipment (UE) connected toa base station is provided. The method includes: when the UE sends Radio ResourceControl (RRC) layer messages to the base station, the UE compresses RRC layer
messages and sends the compressed RRC layer messages to the base station; and whenthe UE receives the compressed RRC layer messages from the base station, the UEdecompresses the compressed RRC layer messages received from the base station.
