Strap (1), in particular a watch strap, consisting of at least two layers (2, 3) offlexible material which are united with one another, for example by cementing, the layer(2) serving as a lining consisting of leather or leather-like material, characterised in thatthe covering layer consists of a strip (3) plaited, woven, knitted or the like from materialin fibre or band form, a frame (6) at least partly surrounding this strip (3), and a maskinglayer (10) covering the joint zone between the strip (3) and the frame (6), and in which anopening (11) is provided, and in that the opening (11) is narrower and/or smaller than thestrip (3).
