摘要：A method for forming an aluminum cigarette package (10) includes the step ofcutting elliptical blanks (42) from an aluminum sheet (40) and shaping the blanks (42) by
progressive drawing operations into a lid (14) and a body (12). The lid (14) and body (12)are joined by a flexible label (90) that serves as a hinge that allows the lid (14) to bepivoted relative to the body (12) to open and close the pack. In an alternative
embodiment of the invention, a drawn aluminum body (122) is provided with a flat capmember (124) having an aperture (150) and a resealable closure (126). The inventionincludes a metal package (10,120) made by the method of the invention.
