摘要：A banknote handling device that improves banknote delivery efficiency, byreading serial numbers for banknotes by using a banknote discrimination unit. Thebanknote handling device comprises: a banknote deposit/withdrawal unit for receivingand delivering banknotes from and to a user; the banknote discrimination unit thatdiscriminates banknotes and is capable of reading banknote serial numbers; a banknotestorage unit that stores banknotes; a delivery path that delivers banknotes depositedinto the banknote deposit/withdrawal unit, to the banknote storage unit via thebanknote discrimination unit; and a control unit that controls the banknote
deposit/withdrawal unit, the banknote discrimination unit, the banknote storage unit, andthe delivery path. The banknote handling device is characterized by the control unitcontrolling the banknote deposit/withdrawal unit, the banknote discrimination unit, thebanknote storage unit, and the delivery path such that, if a deposit transaction with a userfails after banknotes have been deposited, banknotes having the same serial numbers asthe serial numbers read by the banknote discrimination unit are fetched from thebanknote storage unit and delivered to the banknote deposit/withdrawal unit by the
delivery path.
